Theatre Maker & Facilitator

Lekhani has worked in theatre professionally for several years. She has experience working collaboratively throughout R&D’s bringing new ideas and projects to life. Her multidisciplinary background means she can offer ideas from an actor-writer perspective. She enjoys working with creatives from all backgrounds and the process of trying things out.

Lekhani has worked as a facilitator delivering playwriting workshops for Royal Exchange Theatre, notable projects include: OurM8s, The Den Primary Schools Project and Ashton Library Writers Group. Theatre by the Lake and Every Brain have hired her as a playwriting facilitator. She has also delivered workshops for neurodivergent groups at Starling CIO, is a Project Manager for Create Arts and a Youth Worker at Anti Racist Cumbria. Lekhani occasionally works on forum theatre sessions around the theme of cyber bullying with Odd Arts. Lekhani is currently working on Winsford Creates: Our Freedom Then and Now and is working as a Mentor Playwright for New Views 25/26.

Facilitation & Youth Work

Youth Worker – Anti Racist Cumbria

Since September 2023, Lekhani has worked on multiple projects including Living Whilst Black Youth, The TikTok Project, supported with the young people’s residential and is currently working on the Creator Lab Project which will be shared at the Summit in October 2025.

Playwright & Facilitator for Tameside Primary Schools – Best Mates, Top Bins & Venga Venga

In 2025, Lekhani worked as a facilitator with Y1 & Y5 in primary schools to develop two new plays on the theme of joy and surprise. The plays they wrote together were ‘A Christmas Bond’ and ‘A Boy’s Mysterious Power’. Both were performed as part of The Den Festival 2025 in Stalybridge at The Civic Hall.

Artist & Facilitator – Starling CIO

Since April 2024, Lekhani has been delivering sessions with neurodivergent young people across schools and community groups in Greater Manchester. Notable projects she has worked on as an artist is The Party which was a devised performance celebrating Starling’s 5th Birthday. An evening celebrating neurodiversity through music, art and performance.
